Female Founders Program

The Female Founders Program offers the opportunity to support women in starting and developing their businesses. Women often face significant challenges due to various social, economic and cultural barriers.

The City of Frankfurt aims to specifically support programmes, training courses, networks and other formats that help to overcome these obstacles.

Who is eligible for funding?

* Note: Financial support is limited to a maximum of 30,000 € (gross). Only one application per legal entity per calendar year (including subsidiaries and sister companies) is permitted. The supported project must be a further development of an existing project or a newly created project. Recurring programmes are not eligible for financial support.

The funded projects should support female founders in at least one phase of business development (ideas, start-up, growth, scaling support). The following key challenges could be supported by formats in the area of female founders, for example:

Market entry and growth in the market

Type of format

This support programme is not intended to promote one-off formats (pure events), but rather to enable formats that have a long-term impact on existing infrastructures and create sustainable networks, access to capital and visibility for female founders.

Erstellung eines Reportings

Reporting on the event with participant management and participant analysis – consent to provide participants’ professional contact details in the form of participant lists.
The project has implemented mechanisms for measuring success, e.g. social media impressions, number of participants, matchmaking initiatives, etc.
The project has its own homepage/subpage and/or social media channel, which must include a link and announcement about the funding provided by the Economic Development Agency/City of Frankfurt.
Positive effect on the KPIs of the Frankfurt Economic Development Agency (e.g. number of participants, social media impressions, capital invested, start-ups by participants).

Invoice and important information

The format must take place in Frankfurt and the participant must be able to issue a proper, tax-recognised invoice. Financial support will be paid after the contractually agreed service has been provided. The complete application must be received by the application portal before the start of the measure. In all other respects, the general guidelines for the granting of municipal subsidies by the City of Frankfurt am Main apply.
